Neutral Section implementation and maintenance within the OCS infrastructure is a challenging process with many incidents leading to significant delays thus affecting the reliability and operational availability of the network. The combination of the increased overall component weight and elaborate set up often result in non-uniform setup of the same component in various routes and configurations.
At T-RIS we have gathered and analysed the installation of Neutral Section at various stages of the component lifecycle observing the implemented geometry using OLE StAT and replicating the as-fitted geometry in D-RSS models replicating on-site installer’s decision and constrains in a digital0twin environment. We then combined the findings with instrumented data from multiple locations with on legacy and new infrastructure to consolidate the optimum setup parameters, the overall integration into the system design and even achieved acceptable interface performance under graded wire sections.
